A very insightful and meaningful workshop today about the important subject of Green Energy. We discussed the impacts faced if we don't take drastic measures to decarbonise and the practical steps we can take to reduce carbon emissions as individuals, in our organisations and as a county.

We kicked off with a presentation from Marcus Winter about University of Exeter's Green Futures Solutions programme, followed up with an insight from Claire Marshall about the history of Mount Pleasant Eco Park and the meaningful steps they have taken to minimise their impact on the local environment.

Thomas Parsons from Good Energy UK led the workshop covering key issues regarding decarbonisation, greenwashing and choosing the right energy and solar supplier. He also shared an interesting case study on The Wave Inland Surf destination and their steps towards Net Zero.

To wrap up we had insight from Jo Banks from Cornwall Council who shared an update about the CIOS Local Area Energy Plan, and the positive progress so far regarding the ambitious target for Cornwall to be a carbon neutral by 2030.

There were many great discussions, good news, and challenges shared throughout the morning with the workshop ending with an amazing vegan lunch and a tour of the park. Thank you to everyone who came and contributed to the workshop and the the Mount Pleasant team for being excellent hosts!
