Poldhu Care Home | Storm Goretti Scaffolding

Following Storm Gorretti, powerful storm force winds struck Cornwall, causing extensive damage at Poldhu, Mullion. The main property suffered severe roof failure, while the adjacent house was also compromised, requiring temporary roofing for both. Ongoing harsh weather and occupied living conditions created significant challenges, highlighting the scale and complexity demonstrated in the project video.

We have been making changes behind the scenes. Early starts, cold January mornings, but solid progress every day — even with Storm Goretti and Ingrid rolling in. We’ve focused again on domestic emergency roofing works, responding to storm damage across the south of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Scaffolding Saturday : January return amid Storm Goretti

This week our teams have been working throughout Storm Goretti, providing safe access for essential roofing and fascia repairs across ongoing projects.

With high winds and challenging conditions, our priority has been safety — for our operatives, other trades, and the public. We worked closely with roofers to ensure damaged areas could be secured quickly, helping protect properties from further weather-related issues.

A big thank you to our team for their professionalism and care in difficult conditions, and to our clients for their patience and cooperation while works were carried out safely and responsibly.
