We're looking for an Estimator to join the Global Infrastructure team and support the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders. Working alongside our commercial, planning and production teams, you'll assist with quantity take-offs, pricing and tender documentation, helping to ensure compliance with company procedures and client requirements.

The role includes reviewing tender documentation, preparing Bills of Quantities, analysing subcontractor quotations and supporting the preparation of competitive tenders. You'll also work with estimating software to develop accurate costings, support tender programmes, and attend site visits and meetings with clients and design teams where required.

Great project to be involved with, good to see the team getting recognition for keeping this historic hydro-plant operating for years to come!

Congratulations to SSE Renewables, whose Tummel Bridge Replant Project recently won the Award for Heritage and Restoration at the British Hydropower Association annual conference in Glasgow.

The award recognises projects that breathe new life into historic hydropower sites through restoration, renovation or optimisation, and celebrates the enduring contribution of hydro and the skill involved in bringing legacy infrastructure into the 21st century.

Tummel Bridge Power Station, a 1930s Category A listed building, was comprehensively restored through a £50 million refurbishment programme led by SSE Renewables, with support from Stantec, Voith Hydro and Global Infrastructure.

Global Infrastructure was appointed as Principal Contractor for the project, with our scope covering the replacement of the original power generation infrastructure, including turbines, generators, MIVs, and associated mechanical and electrical systems.

Key project statistics included the demolition of 1,000 tonnes of mechanical equipment, the removal and replacement of 1,900 m³ of existing concrete, the installation of 220 dowelled anchors tied into the rock bed alongside 190 tonnes of rebar and 4,800 rebar couplers, and the dismantling and reinstallation of two penstocks, each measuring 3,000 mm in diameter.
