Just on the way back from an oil boiler repair at Glenalmond this morning, we spied a very cool way to avoid the rocketing diesel prices-a couple of shire horses with a cart-this was abviously an early model as it is only 2HP.

First question-have you run out of oil?
Most reply that they checked the gauge and there is plenty. These gauges are unreliable, and usually pack up after a couple of years, even then, if the gauge was not calibrated to that particular tank it will never read correctly.
There is a much simpler analog solution-use a stick!
A garden cane is the stick of choice, but any long stick will do.
you can even add graded marks by fitting tiewraps on it to give an indication.
If you look at the manufacturers website for your tank they will give a measurement in mm for number of litres

I was repairing a worcester oil boiler in the rain this morning. while I was waiting for it to heat up, I asked Chat GPT what my van would look like as a supercar.......
this was the result.
It does look very good, but considering the state of the roads outside our workshop, let alone the rest of Perthshire, I think the lowered suspension, spoilers and huge wheels are a bad idea.
Decided not to go with this design, but may run to some seat covers and an insulated coffee cup

Good news... Maria Carey has been put back in the deep freeze until next Xmas
No need to buy any food as you bought a months supply on xmas eve, which nobody ate.
you can now regift the terrible presents that appeared on xmas day, or for those lucky enough to get an M+S jumper with a "gift receipt" can take it back for something you really want-gin.
The relatives have gone home, no arguing about triple letter scores in scrabble, or that Sean Connery was the best Bond, as long as you do not count "never say never again".
and remember-the overpriced Norfolk butter basted frozen turkey that was £60 on xmas eve is now £5 , with a use by date of 2027.

I went to the van for some tools and this mental mad moggy launched itself like a furry missile out of the bushes and clamped onto my leg with more claws than a sabre tooth....then I started this mad version of strictly, with me pogoing round the garden with the customer laughing....

Went to a job yesterday, the customer asked if I was bothered by dogs-"what is it?"........"a labrador?, no problem".
I parked the van at the front and this huge brown dog came charging at the van, not very friendly, so I parked round the other side, and found these two ,fast asleep.
If you have more than one dog, let me know!
Also-as the nights are fair drawing in, maybe it is time to have your gas,LPG, oil boiler or gas fire serviced -we install all makes of oil,gas lpg appliances

It was these two comedians, Eric and Ernie.
