FREE WORKSHOP TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES NAVIGATE POST-BREXIT CHALLENGES Navigating the complex world of customs can be challenging for small businesses at the best of times. However, with the fall-out of Brexit, combined with the cost-of-living crisis, remaining competitive in an increasingly squeezed market has never been tougher.

As an independent local business themselves, Customs Consultancy have a keen understanding of these challenges and want to help.
They are offering a free-of-charge workshop to retailers where common challenges can be aired and shared, and the Bethan team will offer guidance from their perspective.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday 19th April from 6.30pm-8.00pm at Nicky T’s Café in Oldmeldrum.

In light of the cost crisis for business, Business Gateway have developed a new workshop that they will be delivering in Aberdeen, Inverurie and Peterhead - Financial Strategy for the Cost Crisis.

Derek Leslie of Delfinity will deliver this workshop and it will go through steps that business owners should take now to protect their businesses through the cost crisis.

Business Gateway Aberdeen City and Shire are delivering a Re-Ignition Programme in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council.

The aim of the programme is to support businesses operating in tourism, hospitality, retail and services, helping them to plan, adapt and grow. Ultimately aiming to strengthen local businesses and our town centres.

A team of specialists has been brought together to deliver support through networking opportunities, 1-2-1 sessions and digital & innovation support.

Support can be provided across a range of specialisms including:

• Strategic planning
• Financial understanding/planning
• Marketing
• Customer service
• Review of funding applications
• Visual merchandising
• Customer personal development
• Branding
• Sustainability

There are no application forms to complete, no grants or funding to apply for - the support is readily available and free from now until July 2023.

Light Up Peterhead Switch On Event Saturday 3rd December 2022.

We are a small committee of 4 community members putting up the lights, trees and organising the events. We are supported greatly by Brian McLennan who organises the Lorry Parade. We appreciate all the support from members of the community who attend our fundraising events and help to volunteer at this event.

7.30am Errol Street closed for the Fun Fair to set up.
9am - 3pm Producers Market Drummers Corner
9am - 4pm Fun Fair rides at Errol Street
9am - 3.30pm post your letters to Santa in our post box at the Muckle kirk.
11am-3pm Love Rara Characters in Drummers Corner and Muckle Kirk - Face painter in Muckle Kirk
10.30am - 4pm School Choirs and Entertainment Drummers Corner
2pm - 3pm Story teller in Muckle Kirk
1.10pm Reindeer Parade from Top Ford Car Park to Errol Street
1.30pm Reindeer on view at Errol Street

⭐⭐ WE DID IT! ⭐⭐ Last night we were recognised as the Best Newcomer at the Living Wage Scotland Awards.

We couldn't be more delighted with this award. Since becoming an accredited living wage employer last year, we have actively sought to promote the movement and raise awareness among fellow retailers where achieving living wage rate remains difficult to implement.

This is something we will continue to do and lead the change within our sector, allowing workers to further support their families and remain relaxed during the current cost of living challenges many are facing.
