Keeping your stove glass sparkling can enhance the cosy atmosphere of your home! Here's our guide to safely cleaning and preventing dirty stove glass:

Why does stove glass get dirty?

Improper stove use:
Poor stove design (not a worry with our Town & Country Fires stoves thanks to built-in airwash!)
Burning the wrong fuel (e.g., wood with high moisture content, treated wood, household coal)

Tips for cleaner stove glass:💧🧽

🔥 Use the right fuel: Opt for dry, seasoned logs (under 20% moisture) or HETAS approved smokeless fuels.
🔥 Use your stove correctly: Follow the manufacturer's instructions for lighting and maintaining your stove. Typically, open all air vents initially, then close primary air and regulate with secondary/tertiary controls.
🔥 "Burn the glass clean":Get the stove hot, fully close primary air, and adjust secondary/tertiary air.
🔥 Clean carefully when needed:Use a damp cloth or sponge scrubber (when cool). Specialist stove glass cleaner can be used, but avoid kitchen/oven cleaners.

A few extra tips:

Chimney updraft can vary, so you might need to adjust your stove usage.

So you've just bought a lovely new Town & Country Fires multi-fuel stove? Fantastic! But what fuel should you be using? Let's break it down:

Multi-fuel stoves are designed for smokeless fuels, with airflow from beneath the grate. This differs from wood burners, which thrive on a bed of ash with airflow from above. 🪵🔥
