A splash of Mediterranean sunshine arriving in the saleroom.

This large and wonderfully colourful Beach Scene by Scottish artist Allan Nelson is one of the paintings already consigned to our October Art Auction.

At over a metre wide, it certainly has presence and is estimated at £800–£1,200.

Our Art Auction takes place on 14 October, with an evening viewing on 8 October.

These wonderful early photographs of R. C. Ray’s Cycle Works in Plymouth are among a collection of local photographs and ephemera coming up for auction with us this month.

The shopfront, bicycles and characters standing outside offer a fascinating little snapshot of Plymouth life more than a century ago.

Does anyone recognise exactly where the shop was?
