So as another year passes the time has come for the Prince Of Wales Residents Association to have its AGM. This year we have been supported by Pontefract Squash Club so we are hoping that we can see plenty of people attending and because we have a venue, we will not be conducting the meeting on Teams. The AGM will be on Sunday 6th April at 4PM with an expectation that it will be concluded by 6pm or earlier.
The POWRA constitution determines the agenda for the AGM and it will be as follows.
1. The minutes of the previous AGM to be summarised and approved
2. The existing committee represented by the Chairman will provide a report of the previous year as part of their annual statement.
3. The final accounts for the year will be presented and approved by the existing committee with a final balance to carry agreed.
4. The existing committee will stand down
5. The officers and committee for year 25/26 will be elected. You must be present if you wish to join the commitee
6. As per previous AGMs any amendments to the constitution can be proposed 14 days prior to this AGM, indeed this used to be 21 days but was amended to 14 days in agreement as this was felt to be enough time.
7. Any amendment will then be discussed at the meeting
8. Finally, any committee members standing down will be free to leave or can continue in a non committee residential seats position whilst the new Commitee arrange dates for their first meeting.
If a committee cannot be formed of 6+ people the existing committee can make a decision to dissolve the association or to suspend operation for 6 months to allow an opportunity for a new committee to be found. At this point all assets are frozen and a consultation period will commence with as many households as possible.
