What do you want to pass-on as your legacy for future generations?

That was the big question we discussed this morning in our networking meeting!

Many of the local businesspeople in our group are focused on growing their business to hand over to their children or sell at retirement - and the regular referrals and support from our group is helping them reach those goals.

What do you think is the biggest key to your success - your performance, your image, or your exposure?

You might be surprised to learn that exposure plays the biggest part - much more than how well you perform!

This was a really interesting education topic, delivered in our meeting this morning by Clare Clish - Not Just Travel. When these three elements were applied to how the BNI system works, it made total sense that the pie was sliced this way!

Of course, being good at what we each do is important, but that's a standard expectation. Being known, liked, and trusted (image) is the foundation to success, and being visible to lots of people who can open doors (exposure) is why we all network in this group of fellow businesspeople - and why we generate revenue for each other.

Over the last 12 months we've thanked each other for £451,050 of business!

It was really interesting to meet three new guests today and some great connections were made as they visited our group to increase their own exposure. Thank you Dannie Allcock from Aquavitra , Martin Davies from Fidgital Design and Dave Adams from CMD Electrical Engineers Ltd for coming along.

How do you wear yours?

Nope, we're not talking about skinny, straight cut or low-rise - our health and safety consultant presented to us this morning about how he encourages his clients to wear their management systems as a pair of trousers, not an overcoat!

What does RG Consulting Services means by this? It shouldn't be something that is taken off at work!

He shared a great story about helping a bakery business with supplier selections, waste management, risk assessments and business management systems - all of which were integral to growing the business.

Each member of our networking group has stories to tell about client successes and their committment to wearing the trousers - demonstrated week-in, week-out, by the business passed between other members.

Referrals passed in the last year have generated half a million pounds in business for our members and we have plenty more introductions to make, and opportunities to give, to other people who want to grow - like our visitor today, Spartan Expert Cleaning valeting and Detailing.
