On Saturday, we took part in the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk, walking for the wonderful people we support at West Care and Support Services, and in honour of Linzi’s grandma, Jenny. 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who donated and supported us. It really does mean so much!!

I also wanted to say how incredibly proud I am of my team. Seeing their dedication, compassion and genuine passion for the people we support extend beyond their working hours makes me so proud of what we’re building together.

To me, care has always been about so much more than just a job, and I’m so lucky to have people around me who share that same belief.

A lovely day, for a cause very close to our hearts. 💙

🍂🎃 Spooky season has arrived at our care centre!

Linzi and I have been busy decorating the centre and planning lots of lovely things for the autumn and winter months. We’ve already got outings, singers and seasonal activities booked into the diary, with plenty more to come!

Our day centre provides warm, friendly and personalised care and support for people living with dementia, with a real focus on companionship, meaningful activity and making every day enjoyable. 💚

We’re open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in Ponteland and still have some availability.

🍂🎃 Spooky season has arrived at our care centre!

Linzi and I have been busy decorating the centre and planning lots of lovely things for the autumn and winter months. We’ve already got outings, singers and seasonal activities booked into the diary, with plenty more to come!

💙 World Alzheimer’s Day – Monday 21st September 💙

This Monday, West Care & Support Services is proud to support World Alzheimer’s Day, helping to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

For us, though, dementia awareness isn't something that happens just once a year. We support people living with dementia every day through the work we do 💛

Our Ponteland Adult Day Centre is open this Monday, and we’ll be marking World Alzheimer’s Day together with our clients.

🏡 We’d also love to welcome anyone who would like to find out more about the Day Centre. If you’re passing, thinking about support for yourself or a loved one, or simply curious about what we do, pop in, have a look around, meet the team and have a cuppa with us. There’s no appointment needed. ☕💛

We’re also getting ready for our South Shields Memory Walk on 10th October, where Team WCSS will be taking part to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️💙

We’re incredibly proud to support the cause through our fundraising and, most importantly, through the work we continue to do with our dementia clients and their families every day.

💙 THE WCSS TEAM NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT! 💙

The countdown is on! On 10 October 2026, Linzi, Katie, Carla, Tom and Owen from West Care & Support Services will be taking part in the South Shields Memory Walk 2026, raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

With the walk getting closer, we're still a long way from our fundraising target, so we'd be incredibly grateful for any support our clients, families, friends and local community can give us.

Dementia is something particularly close to our hearts at WEST. Through our Adult Day Centre and the work we do every day, we see just how important companionship, understanding and the right support can be for people living with dementia and their families.

🎂 Happy 94th Birthday, Margaret! 🎉💐

We had a wonderful time at the Day Centre celebrating our lovely Margaret, who turns an amazing 94 years young tomorrow! ❤️

The centre was decorated ready for the celebrations, and we enjoyed plenty of smiles and laughter with birthday cake, party treats, pass the parcel and a fun game of musical chairs! 🎁🍰🎶🪑

There was lots of laughter and a little friendly competition, and it was lovely to see everyone joining in and helping to make Margaret’s celebration extra special. 🥰

🏃‍♀️ Something a little different is happening in Ponteland this Saturday! 💛

Our neighbours at NO1 GYM are holding their Charity 5K Run/Walk on Saturday 5th September, and with plenty of people expected to be in the area, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to open our Day Centre too!
