🌟 We’re opening an extra day! 🌟

Up until now, our Day Centre has been open on Mondays and Wednesdays, and we know this may have meant that some people who could benefit from the centre have missed out because those days simply didn’t work for them.

We’re pleased to let you know that we’ll be opening this Friday too! 💛

We’re looking at the possibility of making Fridays a regular additional day, so we’d love to hear from individuals and families who may be interested.

Our Day Centre offers a relaxed, friendly and welcoming environment where adults can enjoy good company, activities, refreshments and support from our team.

If you’ve been thinking about the Day Centre but haven’t been sure whether it’s right for you or a loved one, pop down for a visit and a chat with us this Friday. There’s no pressure – come in, have a look around, meet the team and see what you think.

💙 Every life has a story. Every memory matters.

Yesterday, we asked some of our wonderful day centre clients a few questions about their lives, their memories, and the moments that have stayed with them.

Their answers made us smile, made us reflect, and reminded us just how much wisdom, humour, love and life experience can be held within a single person 🥹

For people living with dementia, memories may sometimes become harder to reach — but the person, their feelings, their experiences and the life they have lived are still so important.

Sometimes, all it takes is a simple question, a little patience, and someone willing to listen 💙

We feel incredibly privileged to hear these stories and share these moments with the people who attend our day centre.

🌟 Looking for a local Day Centre for a loved one?

Our welcoming, community-focused Adult Day Centre in Ponteland provides a safe, friendly and supportive environment for older adults and individuals who may benefit from companionship, structure and meaningful social interaction.

We are dementia friendly and offer a range of enjoyable activities, refreshments and opportunities to socialise, helping people maintain their independence, confidence and wellbeing while also providing valuable respite for families and carers.

A key strength of our service is the professional expertise within our team. We have both a dedicated Mental Health Nurse and qualified Social Worker, enabling us to offer additional knowledge, guidance and support to individuals and their families.

🤝 Do you work with adults who could benefit from additional support?

We're always keen to build relationships with other local professionals and community organisations.

Our services include our Ponteland Adult Day Centre and support within people's own homes.

We're particularly interested in connecting with social workers, community nurses, sheltered housing teams, charities, community groups and other local professionals.

☀️ Summer Memories ☀️

With all this lovely hot weather we’re having at the moment, we decided it was the perfect time to take a little walk down memory lane with our clients. 💛

Our “Summer Memories” activity encouraged everyone to think back and share some of their favourite memories of summers gone by. From family holidays and trips to the seaside, to picnics, days out, playing outdoors and enjoying the sunshine, there were so many wonderful stories to tell. 🏖️🍦🌻

It was lovely to see our clients interacting with one another, listening to each other’s stories and joining in with conversations as different memories were sparked.

There were plenty of smiles, laughter and those special moments of connection that make activities like this so meaningful. 🥰

The sunshine outside may be hot, but it certainly helped bring back some warm and happy memories inside our day centre! ☀️💭💛

Our Day Centre clients have been enjoying some gentle armchair exercises — a great way to keep moving, have some fun and enjoy time together.
