THIS REALLY SUCKS!

At Richfords, we are always looking for more efficient ways to save insurers money and reduce drying times.

Following a devastating fire in this Grade-listed building which resulted in severe water damage to the structure, and with a view to deploying the most efficient and cost-effective drying technique, we installed our suction pad drying regime in multiple rooms and on multiple surfaces to quickly bring the building back to its original state and allow reinstatement works to begin.

This active form of suction drying is ideal for larger areas. It proves to be more efficient than the passive envelope drying technique, which could have been deployed to gain the same results over a longer period.

Winners! Commercial Restoration Project of the Year 2022

The Richfords restoration-focused approach caught the attention of judges at last month's BDMA awards.

In February 2021, the historic Queens Theatre in Barnable suffered significant water damage following heavy rain. By carefully understanding the customer's needs, Richfords applied core BDMA principles to use targeted drying methodologies to minimise strip out. They deploy trailer-mounted drying to efficiently and cost-effectively dry the structure and minimise disruption to the theatre and its neighbouring properties.

Martin Lewis is so very right, please DON'T store cash at home. We see too many devastating fires and floods destroy everything, including families life savings.

β€œMoney under mattress a bad choice. Most home insurance policies cover a maximum Β£1000 cash, and that's if your claim is accepted. Money in UK regulated bank account protected up to Β£85000 per person, and they pay you interest https://t.co/tRuYhVhct4”

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY
At Richfords, we are always proud of our team, but especially so today.
Pictured is Nikki Thompson, one of Richfords Relationship Executives delivering hand-sewn isolation gowns to Registered Nurse Manager Kathryn Clark and Deputy Nurse Manager Deborah O'Shaughnessy at The Beeches Nursing Home.

Over the past 8 weeks, we have been trying to assist The Beeches Nursing Home, in Hayle Cornwall, to source the PPE they need to protect their team and patients from COVID-19.

In the absence of Isolation gowns, we could purchase, we embarked on a mission to make them. Nikki coordinated the project and sourced the material. Our dear friend, Stephen Callaghan of Calco Paper Services, Newquay, kindly offered to print the sewing patterns, free of charge. Richfords own Kelly Atkins and Cathryn Shepherd gave up their time to, painstakingly cut of the patterns over a weekend. Then the very talented Kay Bartlett, who normally makes handcrafted bears, kindly volunteered to sew the gowns. You can find her details on Facebook or Esty under Bamaluz Bears.

So in all a real team and community effort to deliver these much-needed PPE supplies to the incredible team at The Beeches.
