Saturday is just another day.
I was once told that if you want a different life, you can’t keep putting in the same effort as everyone else.
When others are sleeping, you’re working.
When others are switching off, you’re still showing up.
I took that advice to the extreme.
For most of my 20s, I worked 7 days a week. Twenty-hour days weren’t uncommon. I thought success was simply a matter of outworking everyone around me.
And for a while, it worked.
Until it didn’t.
I burnt out. Fu**ed it overnight spiralled, years of therapy to gain insight
What I’ve learned since is that hard work matters, but comparison doesn’t. There will always be someone earning more, doing more, achieving more.
The real competition is with the person you were yesterday.
So yes, Saturday is just another day. Sometimes you’ve got to put in the extra hours. Sometimes you’ve got to make sacrifices that others won’t.
But don’t lose yourself chasing somebody else’s race.
Build your own.
Get 1% better than yesterday.
Then do it again tomorrow.
That’s how real progress compounds. 🍻💻
