Joy doesn’t mean constant happiness or living life in glorious technicolour.

Sometimes it’s simply noticing small, meaningful moments.

A good conversation.
A sunny morning.
A meeting that leaves you energised instead of drained.

Positive psychology research shows that when we notice small positive experiences, we gently train the brain to spot more of them.

It doesn’t fix everything.
It doesn’t erase hard seasons.

But it can build resilience and create a little more breathing space in our minds.

For me, this isn’t about forced gratitude or pretending life is perfect.
It’s about noticing that moments of good can exist alongside challenge.

That’s a challenge and an opportunity.

✨ Joyful 40 ✨

The past few weeks have been full of joy:

✨ I turned 40 — celebrated in style on a Sunseeker and with a house full of friends, family, food and laughter 🎉
✨ My partner surprised me with tickets to a vegan festival that left me buzzing with inspiration about the power of community and collective movements (and a belly full of great food 🌱).
✨ I’ve felt incredibly lucky to be surrounded by love, friendship, and fresh air — and grateful to reach 40 knowing what truly lights me up and brings me joy.

Looking back, the distance travelled over the past 10 years is huge.
At 30, I was living in a shared house, about to be dumped by a cheating partner, addicted to a job that drained me, with no boundaries and no sense of who I really was. I put myself last, always.

Starting my 40s, things look very different. I have boundaries. I manage my energy. Work has an equal place alongside the other parts of my life. And I choose to work with businesses and clients where I add real value.

The last decade has taught me a lot. I’ve evolved into a happier, slower, more rounded version of myself. I know who I am — and I’m no longer apologising for it.

Now, I’ve got time open in my diary to work with people and businesses who want to make their own changes.

Space - How often do we give ourselves space to simply be? To feel? To think freely? .💭

Despite our best intentions, life has a habit of filling every corner. We think we need more space… but sometimes, what we really need is a shift in mindset

Sometimes that shift comes through small, intentional actions; a walk in nature, journaling, cooking, a day trip.

Recently, after a period of significant change, grief and tension, I craved space. I booked a last-minute getaway with a friend, to do nothing. Fast-forward 48 hours: yes, I’d devoured a big chunk of A Little Life (finally!)… but my feet were itching. I wanted to walk, to explore, to feel free. We walked along cliffs, visited new parts of the island, and then I found myself reaching for my journal.

I reviewed my goals. Checked if they still mattered. Reprioritised. Broke them down into micro-actions. And suddenly, I had a clear, energised plan for my return.

The trip didn’t transform my life — but it gave me space to be, to think, and to feel. And that was enough to get me back on track.

I realised when I got home and started working on my actions… my holiday was like a long (and hot, and slightly expensive!) coaching session. The good news? You don’t need 3 car rides, a plane and a ferry to do the same. I'm not sure I needed a holiday at all, I just needed to allow myself space.

This tiny (almost invisible!) peony bud has been three years in the making.

It reminded me how real, lasting change often starts the same way — unseen, slow, and sometimes frustrating.

But with consistent, gentle care, tiny step after tiny step, things begin to shift. Then one day, almost quietly, a new bud forms.

If you’re working on change in your life or career, keep going. What you’re growing might not be visible yet, but it’s on its way. 🌱

She got the job! 🎉

One of my coaching clients recently went from saying she struggled to take up space…
…to nailing a promotion within just two sessions.

When I got the email telling me she’d been offered the role, I felt as excited as if it were my own news!

Coaching is such a privilege.
To witness someone break through psychological barriers and truly flourish — there’s nothing quite like it.

It’s a joy to feel inspired by the people I support, and in turn help them:
• Access their inner resources
• See things from new perspectives
• Perform at their best
• Grow their confidence

After every session, I reflect on just how incredible it is that this is my work.

Don’t just look forward — take time to celebrate how far you’ve come.

Most of us are quick to move on. We tick the box, shift our focus… and forget to pause.
But science says that celebrating even small wins is crucial for lasting change. Here’s why celebration works:

🌟It triggers dopamine — making new habits feel rewarding
🌟 It reinforces self-worth — boosting confidence and self-esteem
🌟 It creates emotional breathing space — lowering stress
🌟 It rewires the brain — helping you focus on progress over perfection
🌟 It builds momentum — because success feels good, and you want more
