It's THAT day of the year.

They say that the 3rd Monday in January is the saddest day, but I disagree. For me it's today. The 1st of September.

My good lady wife has gone back to school (she's a teacher).

We have nothing but dreary autumn and winter evenings to look forward to.

And it's worse this year, because the youngest is off to uni in a couple of weeks, leaving a very empty house.

Still, I've cheered myself up by entering a couple of races, so it's not all bad.
