This time next week, it’ll be main day!

It’s free.
It’s unfenced.
And you should come.

Pride Month starts on 1st June, and before the usual comments begin, I want to say this:

Supporting LGBTQ+ people does not take anything away from anyone else.

Pride isn’t about wanting special treatment.

It’s about wanting to live as our full, authentic selves without fear, shame or prejudice.

And yes, that prejudice still exists.

In workplaces.
In families.
In schools.
Online.
In everyday conversations people pretend are “just opinions”.

For people like me, Pride is joy.
But it’s also visibility.
Safety.
Community.
And a reminder that being yourself should never be something you have to fight for.

So come to Portsmouth Pride next week.

Not just to celebrate.
But to stand with us.
