In 6 weeks, I will have completed the London Marathon 2022 raising money on behalf of British Heart Foundation.

During the day, we will have a team talk from one of my heroes HARRY REDKNAPP and a warm up routine from the very own MR MOTIVATOR.

What a welcome we had at Milford Haven Golf Club when the Golf Society played the Major Gwyn Trophy there last week.

MD Hywel Griffiths organised the tournament on behalf of the Old Llandoverians Golf Society.

You can see from the photos that the weather had been ordered for us, and though a bit windy it was a beautiful day.

As a result of the wind we had a great 'scrap' with no one scoring a ridiculously high return which made for an exciting contest.

The results were:

Major Gwyn Trophy Roger Howells with 34pts.
Guest Winner Mark Cummings with 36points.

Longest Drive Trophy winner sponsored by MHGC was David Lee.

NTP Trophy winners sponsored by MHGC were Stephen Gardener on Hole6 and Vivian James on hole16.

The next tournament is at CARMARTHEN GOLF CLUB for the 3rd leg of the Triple Crown as we play for the APD CHALLENGE TROPHY on July 1st.

APD is also entering a team at ASHBURNHAM GOLF CLUB on June 30th to help raise monies for the Welsh O60s Cricket team who are playing in the inaugural World Cup in Australia.

That's the end of another month of the training for London Marathon.

Highlights for the month ....
1. I have reached my Slimming World target for my weight and only 1lb off my preferred running weight. Not going to work on my weight from now on.

2. Got to GREEN for all my targets.

3. Green on most targets for June already.

4. Ran over 150k, a huge improvement for me.

5. My chest size has gone down from 48 to 43, now I fit into L shirts.

6. My waist size has gone down from 44 to 36inches, smallest waist size for nearly 27 years. The photo below I am very proud of.

What are the plans for June?
1. Need to run more than 150k again.

2. Stick to the weight.

3. Go to the gym more often, my schedule now includes a lot more core work.

4. Continue to ENJOY the experience.

IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN ......

the end of the month and as promised, I am keeping you up to date with my training.

Although I felt unwell during the first week of the month, I used the time as a 'recuperation' period which has helped me exceed my daily activities for the rest of the month.

Very happy with that ....

Once again my calories gained and minutes of activity far exceeded my target, which has helped me to lose another 8lbs and get very close to the weight loss target I set myself to reach by the end of August.

Very proud of being 43lbs lighter after 14weeks of keeping a record.

All other targets have been met as you can see (a lot of green on here) and now for May you can see that I have met quite a few of the targets I have set to reach by end of May already.

So the training is in full swing.

Of course, up to now I have been putting together a solid foundation (exactly what you would be doing if you were setting up your business) because May is the month when I start to follow the British Heart Foundation training schedule that has been shared with me.

It will be interesting to see if my body is up to the increased pressure of the proper training.

Of course, I will be reporting it all to you at the end of May.

And of course, as you can see I am back to ground zero for May ...

Update on MD Hywel Griffiths' marathon journey ....

THAT IS ANOTHER MONTH GONE OF MY TRAINING .....

And what a difference a month makes!!

February I really struggled due to the poor weather we were having - but I relished March and thoroughly enjoyed aiming for my targets.

That is not to say it is easy - I had not quite realised how tough the schedule is but my body is holding up so far and I managed GREEN for the month once again.

April means another 30% increase in running distance, so will definitely test me.

Those of you following my journey will know what the picture shows - I start again in April but really happy that in some respects I have met my targets for the END of April already; that always brings a smile to my face.

Again very happy with the weight loss - I expected to be where I am now in June at the earliest so my nutrition coach is doing a great job.

Just in case I needed any more incentive, British Heart Foundation contacted me yesterday to say that our Team Gaffer (Manager) on the day is none other than ......

HARRY REDKNAPP

He has been a hero of mine for many years - and to know he will be there is such a buzz that I am now looking forward more to the training.
