From one school to another – and a whole new purpose. 👷

Our team recently relocated six modular cabins from Brunshaw School to White Ash School, bringing them together to create two classrooms at their new home.

Once on site, there was still plenty to do.

Our team carried out internal alterations to the toilets, kitchen and intervention room, adapting the cabins to make sure the spaces worked for their new use.

A great example of the planning, coordination and teamwork that goes into giving an existing space a completely new purpose.

Another project delivered, but there’s much more to it than the finished result.

Our team recently transformed an existing kitchen into a dedicated clinical space, adapting the area to meet the changing needs of the healthcare environment.

Working within an existing space meant careful planning and coordination were essential to ensure it could be successfully repurposed for its new clinical use.

Our team completed the transformation, including the installation of **new air conditioning and IPS panels**, creating a practical and comfortable environment for staff and patients.

The Things You Don’t See

Sometimes, the simplest-looking part of a project is anything but simple.

Take something as ordinary as a plug socket.

To most people, the finished result is exactly that - a socket on a wall.

But within a specialist commercial or healthcare environment, there can be far more behind that installation than you might imagine.

The right specification.
The right materials.
The relevant standards.
Certification and compliance.
The environment it’s being installed within.
How the space is used.
Who will be using it.
And how the work can be completed safely without unnecessarily disrupting the people around it.

All of that needs to be considered before you ever see the finished result.

And that's just one small element of a much bigger project.

When an emergency happens, a fast response matters.

Following an emergency flood call-out, our team was on site within just 10 minutes.

The immediate priority was making the building safe. We isolated the electrical and water supplies, assessed the situation and took action to help prevent further damage.

Our team returned the following day to complete the necessary repair and install temporary dehumidifiers to support the drying-out process.

A great example of the responsiveness, practical problem-solving and teamwork that happens behind the scenes at Sencat.

It’s a question with quite a big answer.

Because while you might know us for one particular service or project, Sencat’s expertise extends much further.

Our multidisciplinary team brings together specialist knowledge across construction, mechanical and electrical engineering, facilities and maintenance, fire safety and compliance, specialist environments, and product development and innovation.

A reception area is often the first experience someone has when entering an NHS building.

So while this may look like a straightforward refurbishment, getting the environment right matters.

Our team recently completed the refurbishment of this NHS reception area, creating a fresher, more welcoming and functional space for service users, visitors and staff.

As with any work within a live healthcare environment, the project wasn’t simply about how the finished space looked. Careful planning and coordination were essential to manage the works safely and minimise disruption to the people continuing to use the building around us.

The result is a transformed reception area that feels brighter, more professional and better suited to the people who rely on it every day.

Another great example of how even relatively small changes can make a significant difference to an environment.

Small project. Major transformation.

Not every technically complex project is large in scale.

Delivered within a live ward environment, this project required careful planning, close coordination and a clear understanding of the specialist requirements of the space.

Almost every element was bespoke and made to measure around the existing structure, including:

Bespoke reduced-ligature bedroom furniture
Specialist healthcare window
New flooring and full internal finishes
Integrated basin and water-management controls
New air-conditioning and ventilation systems
Reduced-ligature lighting and security grilles
Upgraded electrical, fire-alarm and access-control systems

But the finished space only tells part of the story.

Working within an occupied healthcare environment means considering far more than the installation itself. Safety, access, noise, disruption and the sequencing of different trades all needed to be carefully managed to allow the ward to remain operational while maintaining a safe environment for service users and staff.

It’s this combination of specialist expertise, careful coordination and attention to detail that makes projects like this possible.

A relatively small space, but a significant transformation – and a fantastic team effort from everyone involved.
