This Thursday is our Breakfast Social and Coworking Day at Society1.

In this edition of Preston People we caught up with Jason from

Tell us about Preston DJ Social?

We’re a mental health-based DJ hangout and open deck. Every few weeks, we get together to play tunes, drink tea and check in on each other.

We’ve been running for two years in May and have thrown over twenty events: fundraisers for Lancashire Mind & Movember, industry talks & equipment showcases from AlphaTheta, special events for International Women’s Day & Preston Creative Social.

You have coming up. When is it and how do people get involved?

The event is on Sunday, the 7th of June at Artch in Preston, 3PM-7PM. Tickets are £10 (inc booking fee) with low-income tickets available for those who need them. If you wanna come, read the vibe check on our Instagram & get your tickets on Skiddle.

Where are your favourite places to DJ in Preston?

Switch, the main room when it was rammo. I played Preston Weekender this year, very proud moment. Love a face-melting Blitz till 6 set.

Big shout to Trev & Lisa at Warehouse though, middle floor, top-end decks, good crowd, lighting screen in the booth, good sound system, monitors, very good security team keeping people safe. You have full control of that room, great venue, a lot of work goes into making an icon.

Today is National Flip Flop Day 🩴 🎉so we have to mention our flip flop wearing champion at Society1, Brendan. It’s a rare day to see him in shoes.

Brendan’s flip flop stats:

⭐️ He owns at least 20 pairs.
⭐️ They are all different colours ranging from pink, to yellow, to black.
⭐️ They are always and have been for 30 years!
⭐️ He wears them everyday without fail. Even in the winter. It has been known, he even wears them in the snow.

No that is dedication to the flip flop if ever we saw it! Say hi to our flip flop wearing hero next time you’re in.

Join us on the 4th June for our Breakfast Social and Coworking Day.

This is a new addition to our open events schedule. We invite you to come and work at Society1 for the day and join us for our monthly breakfast social in the morning where we have a brew, a chat and some pastries in our social area. It is a relaxed and informal way to meet a few new faces followed by a day of getting some work done in our lovely coworking space.

Tickets are £21.50 for the day including the breakfast social and coworking day.

It is a great way to get out of the house, have a change of scenery and meet some friendly people in process. It is also a great way to do a bit of ad hoc coworking with us to see what it is like.
