✨A little hello from me... 👋
l’ve noticed quite a few new faces joining The Tiny Iron recently, so I thought it was probably time I introduced myself again.
And after scrolling through my camera roll trying to find a recent photo that didn’t involve a gong, a sound instrument, a room full of women or me looking vaguely witchy... this was about the best I could do. 😂
So, hello! I’m Julie, the person behind The Tiny Iron.
Although The Tiny Iron is my own little home business, ironing and laundry certainly isn’t new to me. I’ve worked within laundry, ironing and dry cleaning for around 30 years, so l’ve probably pressed more shirts, trousers and duvet covers than I care to calculate. 😅
These days I work from home with my commercial presses, and what started as my little ironing business has grown into something I’m incredibly fond of.
One of the loveliest parts has actually been getting to know my customers.
Some have been with me for years. I’ve seen families grow and lives change, we’ve stood chatting on doorsteps, had a laugh over overflowing ironing bags and, somewhere along the way, quite a few customers have started to feel more like familiar friends than names on my collection list . And then there are all the lovely new customers who have found me recently — many through recommendations from somebody who already uses me — which genuinely means such a lot.
So if you’ve recommended The Tiny Iron, shared one of my posts, tagged me when somebody has asked for an ironing service, or simply continued to trust me with your ironing week after week...

Behind the business page, the messages and the piles of beautifully pressed clothes... it’s just me, Julie, doing a job l’ve somehow managed to still enjoy after all these years. (Although judging by my camera roll, apparently I spend the rest of my time banging gongs and dancing around fires with lots of wonderful women 😁✨🔥
