The box tree caterpillar moth (Cydalima perspectalis) became an invasive species in UK gardens since 2008. The caterpillar moth targets the box trees as well as other plant species in the buxaceae and some celastraceae species, often found in gardens, hotel grounds, historical gardens and churches.

Box tree caterpillars overwinters in cocoons spun between box tree leaves and branches then emerge in spring. As shown above, the caterpillars can be identified by their green and yellow body, layered with black hair and thin white stripes along the back of the body and can reach up to 4cm in length.

of catching the males, mating and egg laying can be reduced and populations monitored for additional control measures.

Each pack comes with 3 pheromone lures.

The plastic container is the pheromone attractant, the plastic impregnated with the pheromone lure, which releases from the plastic for up to 1 month. You just remove the plastic lure from the sachet and place in the trap. Each lure is active for 4-6 weeks.
