A peaceful five minutes moving some of the cows and calves down to the river meadow grazing. This group heading to "Secret Field," Surrounded by the woods you'd never know it was there. πŸ”Šup if you like the sounds of tweety birds and tranquility!

Now back to reality, silage was finished at 2 this morning and the sheet pulled over to cover it, now for the hard work of adding the heavy sheets and tyres. πŸ₯΅

Sunday funday. Fly treatment for the ewes now the weather is warming and humid. One less thing to worry about and the pressure is off to get them shorn. Being late lambers the oils aren't up enough for a clean shear for at least another month, so protection gives peace of mind and welfare protection for the ewes.

Another full on few days to end the month, whole crop drill and overseeded with herbal ley, culminating with our earliest ever first cut of silage and a bit of contract silaging. Great quality and decent quantity, now to get the grass fed and shut up for second cut in 5-6 weeks time.

Meanwhile lambing is nearly done and we are cruising through calving. Another fortnight and we should be over our busiest few weeks of the year. πŸ‘Œ

Not quite the end of lambing, but my fantastic team have gone back to school for a rest! Louise and the kids have been a massive help, stuck in to every job and despite the hours they have been hugely enthusiastic and cheerful. Really putting the "family" Into family farming.
