Junior Product Designer – Design 4 Plastics Ltd
📍 Based in Wetherby, Leeds

​

Design 4 Plastics is a well-established Product Design and Development consultancy, with a proven track record of taking ideas from concept through to manufacture. We also own and develop our award-winning brand Rainwater Terrace® Water Butts, combining innovation with sustainability.

​

We are currently looking for a Graduate Product Designer to become an integral part of our small but dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience across all stages of the design process from concept sketching and prototyping through to manufacturing support and product launch.

​

About You
A degree in Product Design or Industrial Design

Strong 3D CAD skills using Creo (Pro-Engineer) or SolidWorks

A creative thinker with a practical approach to design challenges

Enthusiastic, adaptable, and ready to work on a variety of projects across different sectors

Design 4 are a well-established Product Design and Development consultancy currently looking to expand our team. If you are a graduate in either Product Design or Industrial Design with experience of 3D CAD modelling using either Creo (Pro-Engineer) or Solid Works and looking for the challenge of working in this exciting sector we’d like to hear from you.



This candidate will have a strong ability to take client ideas and create an attractive product based on their needs. This candidate should feel comfortable creating prototypes and communicating with internal teams in order to deliver wholesome solutions. The candidate should also have an ability to follow budget constraints and demonstrate some pieces of previous works through a portfolio.



Responsibilities

Understand desires of clients

Work closely within a small design team to establish plan for product release, acknowledge budget and make plans in order to follow financial guidelines

Create product prototypes prior to creating final product

Adjust approach towards designs based on feedback provided



Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in product/industrial design

Strong creative, design and communication skills

Portfolio of work

Experience in Creo (Pro-Engineer) or Solid Works

The masks were produced by our design team at our offices in wetherby, Leeds.

Design 4 based in Thorp Arch were approached by Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust to design, develop and manufacture a Secure PPE Mask Dispenser - these are now available to order via ourselves or the NHS trust.

The dispenser was developed with the following in mind:

Dispense 1 mask at a time
Reduce PPE mask box thefts
Secure wall mounted - all fixings included
IPCP compliant stainless steel
Efficient to dispense and re-stock
Allows for social distancing when more than one are mounted to the wall
Ensure hand sanitising is at maximum.

Used at entry areas across the Harrogate hospital and community sites, perfect for hospitals, care homes, vets, hairdressers, schools, anywhere that uses disposable PPE masks!
