The existing presentation of the ticket hall CIS at Peterborough Station was generally regarded as less than satisfactory in terms of readability of the displays as they relied on much of the text scrolling from right to left in order to show the full range of calling stops of departing trains.

CIS Services resolved this issue by installing 12 CIS displays within different parts of the station. The new displays have given the station a new updated look....

A £450,000 an eight month project to improve passenger facilities at Basildon Station was completed in August. Basildon and Billericay MP John Baron came to have a look around.

• Renovating the main booking hall, refurbishing the interior and installing new non-slip flooring to provide a safer, brighter and more welcoming environment;
• Creating new double-decker cycle parking facilities with 40 spaces, doubling the capacity for and providing greater security for bike users;
• Installing one of c2c’s ground-breaking new passenger information display screens, designed to look like a giant smartphone, which provides information on c2c and tube services;
• Improving the quality of the stairs and repainted the platforms.

Managing Director Julian Drury said: “The old-look Basildon station simply wasn’t providing the welcoming image for visitors to the town that we would all want it to portray, but now that has all been changed. I’m pleased to say the station’s appearance is lighter, brighter and safer, and it provides the facilities our customers would expect for somewhere as important as Basildon.”

John Baron MP said: “Passengers will benefit from these improvements to Basildon station. The better lighting in particular will be welcome. Congratulations to c2c for this investment – it can only add to their already excellent service reputation.”
