From April 2027, the P11D process largely disappears for benefits in kind.

HMRC published the technical software specifications back in November 2025, which means every payroll system in the UK is now in the middle of being redeveloped to handle benefits in real time, in every pay run.

It is the biggest PAYE shake-up in a decade, and it is closer than it looks.

Our latest blog covers what is actually changing, the cash-flow shift most employers are underestimating, and three things to do in 2026 to get ready.

If your business provides company cars, private medical insurance, gym memberships or any other taxable perk, benefits in kind

Workplace pensions: the bit of payroll most people quietly hate.

Setting up the scheme. Enrolling new starters. Handling opt-outs. Managing re-enrolment every three years. Getting contributions right when someone goes on parental leave or works variable hours.

We have done it hundreds of times, for clients with one employee and clients with thousands. The mechanics scale, but the support shouldn't change.

If your auto-enrolment admin feels heavier than it should, talk to us.

Three of the most common payroll mistakes we see when we take on a new client.

1. Tax codes not updated correctly after a starter or P45.
2. Holiday pay calculated on basic rate only, ignoring regular overtime and commission.
3. Pension contributions missed when an employee moves between pay groups.

None of these are dramatic on day one. All of them are expensive and time-consuming to unwind.

Most of them happen because someone is doing payroll alongside ten other jobs. That is exactly why we exist.

Why do clients stay with us?

Some have been with us for the better part of a decade. The honest answer is consistency.

Payroll done accurately, on time, every time. A named contact who picks up the phone when there is a question. Pensions and auto-enrolment handled alongside payroll, not as a separate problem.

We run payrolls from one employee to several thousand, across every pay frequency. If your current setup feels patchy, we would love to have a quick conversation.

P11Ds for 2025/26 are due on 6 July. Here is the short version of what we work through with every client.

1. Identify every employee who received a taxable benefit in 2025/26.
2. Confirm cash equivalents: company cars, private medical, gym, interest-free loans, professional subscriptions.
3. Check whether you voluntarily payrolled any benefits already.
4. File P11D and P11D(b) by 6 July.
5. Pay Class 1A National Insurance by 19 July (post) or 22 July (electronic).

If you are managing this in-house, give yourself a clear runway. If you would like ours to be the team doing it, get in touch.

Three UK payroll deadlines worth pinning to the wall this summer.

The middle of the year is when the small, low-glamour dates catch people out. Here are the three we are working through with clients right now.

6 July: P11D and P11D(b) returns for 2025/26. Anyone who provided company cars, private medical insurance, gym memberships, interest-free loans or any other taxable benefit in the last tax year is in scope.

19 July (postal) or 22 July (electronic): Class 1A National Insurance on the benefits reported in your P11D(b). The figure tends to surprise people. Plan the cash.

Anytime in the next month: a 30-minute mid-year payroll review covering starters, leavers, benefit changes and any auto-enrolment re-enrolment dates coming up.

If you would like our team to run any of these for you, call us on 020 8143 1529 or email [email protected]

Fair pay starts with the right systems.

We’re sharing a new blog exploring structural gender equity at work and the role payroll and HR play in supporting it.

The article highlights how payroll data can help identify pay disparities, support compliance with equal pay legislation and improve transparency across salary and reward structures. It also notes the importance of robust reporting and governance as expectations around gender pay gap reporting continue to evolve.

At Pecunia Pro, we’re supporting businesses with payroll audits, reporting accuracy and governance to help build fair and compliant pay processes.
