Received this email out of the blue and no im NOT looking to sell my practice, but maybe for this price who knows....tell me what makes me think it's a scam!

Julie, A client wrote that you have been very helpful getting his accounts square and that the monthly video review is very helpful. I read the rest of those notes too, and it matches what you put on your own site: a personal report pack every month with a video you record yourself, in plain English, no jargon.

That is the kind of bookkeeping practice I want to own, because clients stay when they actually understand the numbers and deal with you directly rather than a team. I am a private buyer with committed family capital, looking for one good business to run myself for the long term, not a fund. For the right one I will hand over at least £10 million in cash at completion, we close in about four months, and there is no earn out. You can stay on and keep leading it if you want to.

If a sale were ever interesting, would you be open to a short call or a reply so I can introduce myself properly?

I forcast this soemtime ago. It makes sense from HMRC 's perspective and means tax is paid so much sooner.

From the sole trader point of view, you know how much tax is due each quarter, and make a payment on account.

Your thoughts on this?

Income Tax Self Assessment payments through PAYE is coming in April 2029. In the meantime, you can contribute to the government consultation
