I’ve been a little quiet on LinkedIn the last few weeks.

A mix of being deep in the day job, building new things, learning fast and sneaking off to the mountains for a bit of skiing ⛷️

Behind the scenes, I’ve been running as fast as I can.

Recently at Apointe I’ve been involved in some really fun projects, including.

• Finance Director – PLC
• FP&A Director – Series B
• Finance Director – Series A
• Commercial Manager – Series B
• Head of PMO – PLC
• Skiing the Swiss Wall

We’re supporting our clients to hire genuinely top-tier people.

We don’t send everyone, but the people we do send land well

The bigger question for me has been, how do we offer even more to our client base?

How do we go beyond great hires and actually help businesses move faster and smarter?

That’s where MyTeAIm comes in.

I’ve supported one client for over 15 years, helping them build and evolve their finance function through multiple phases of growth. Now we’re taking it a step further, working with them to fundamentally change how they approach M&A, using an AI-native platform my colleagues and I have built at MyTeAIm .

This is early days, but it’s exciting.

And it’s exactly where I want to be, at the intersection of great people, great businesses, and better ways of working.

For now, it’s heads down, sleeves rolled up, staying hungry.

It’s great to be surrounded by good people, something I never take for granted.

2026 goals. Clear head. Fast legs. Big ambitions. Learn to speak French.

This year at Apointe , I’m leaning even harder into what I love doing and where I genuinely help.

•Supporting more CFOs and CEOs as they build standout finance teams

•Working closer with PE & VC firms to hire leaders and swap notes on what’s really happening in the market

•Helping an AI startup in Abu Dhabi gear up for a serious hiring sprint - huge learning curve for me.

Q1 is looking busy, lots of great conversations, many of them kicked off on a Brompton commute, and hopefully wrapped up on a chairlift somewhere in the Alps ⛷️🚲

Another day, another train station.

When work relationships become so much more.

I had a superb lunch today with Jemma Phillips in Wokingham at Bombay Story, our favourite little hangout.

Jem and I go way back. When we first met, she was a career interim, and we instantly connected over a shared love of travel and food.

Six years ago, I approached her about an interim Finance Director role Apointe was managing with LRG (then Romans Estate Agency).

Fast forward to today, and she’s not only transformed the business but added immense value every step of the way. I’ve been lucky enough to watch that journey unfold.

At Apointe, we’re innovating quickly, and I know I need people like Jemma alongside me to do it. Today’s lunch was a superb reminder of that. Thank you, Jem.

Running several businesses feels a lot like today’s weather!

Sunny, then rainy.
Then sunny again.

Ups, downs, repeat. Yesterday was a sh*t day, today is a good day.

Albeit a challenging one out on the Brompton Bicycle

Although turning up to a client meeting soaked isn’t always the best look, it’s a talking point none the less.

But it’s all worth it, today I’ve been engaged to support 8 searches for permanent and interim finance professionals, helping a few different clients hire invredible people at critical times within their change and transformation.

I am always grateful that people far more intelligent than me, trust Apointe to find other people, far more intelligent than me. Somehow, we deliver.

More updates to follow, for now I need a shower, school run and back to it after football this evening.
