🚧 Temporary restrictions at Longshot Lane Recycling Centre

Please be aware that temporary restrictions are currently in place at Longshot Lane Recycling Centre while essential ground works are carried out.

The work is addressing significant cracking and a dip in the ground caused by underground water eroding the subbase. Drainage and resurfacing works are being carried out to help keep the site safe for residents and staff.

While the work is underway, the lower section of the site is closed and the following materials cannot be accepted:
🌳 Wood and garden waste
📦 Cardboard
🧱 Plasterboard
🌱 Soil and hardcore

Residents are asked to use the Reading site or, if possible, hold onto these materials until normal services are expected to resume on 7 October.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding while these essential works are carried out.

One of the biggest surprises at the re3 pop-up shop? A glorious grandfather clock! 🕰️

It wasn't the only unusual find at the recent event at Finchampstead Baptist.

Residents also snapped up guitars, bikes, furnitures drones and a wide range of pre-loved items looking for a new home.

The pop-up shop raised more than £700 for Berkshire Women's Aid, which is re3 Recycling's charity of the year, while helping give unwanted items a second life.

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered and came along to support the event.

For so long, they said I was rubbish. Finally, my brush with destiny, I can be recycled! Toothpaste tubes can be recycled into brand new tubes, that’s a reason to smile.
