Following the latest government measures, we wanted to reassure you our deep cleaning services will not be paused and we will continue taking even more serious precautions to make sure everyone's well-being is not put at risk.
We believe our service is one of highest essence given the nature of the current crisis. We think providing optimal level of sanitisation and disinfetion will help maintain a better overall hygienic environment for everyone and will be key in tackling and preventing any potential contaminations.
Our industry is working hard on proving that it is as essential as all the others already announced by the government however we are not forcing our operatives to work if they don't feel safe. This is the firm stance on the matter of the two biggest organisations in our sector the British Cleaning Council and the British Institue of Cleaning Sciences which we completely support (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/23/what-about-the-other-key-workers)
Fortunately, most of our cleaners are ready to continue operation unless they display any symptoms or we have reason to believe the environment will not be safe.
We are only keeping our deep cleaning services and cleaning of unoccupied premises running as we will be isolating areas being treated to provide maximum safety for our staff. We have seen a lot of demand for sanitisation and disinfection and we will try to not let our customers down while we also keep providing the chance to work for our operatives who if left without work for too long will struggle financially as the nature of our profession does not really allow for "working from home".
With that said if you or your clients have any doubts or reservations, we are perfectly happy to halt any work should you find this the more appropriate response.
Letters: As frontline workers, cleaners deserve better pay and conditions, writes Mike Cash, RMT general secretary, and Audrey Butler believes we are all key to society. Meanwhile, Lucy Matthews is emphatic that the Pets at Home stores do provide an essential service
