❗️STOLEN CONTAINER❗️

This HL5 Ro Ro container was stolen from Malinka Cash & Carry, Little John’s Road (off Portman Road), Reading RG30 1RA at around 00.30hrs on Sunday 11th December 2022.

The criminals used a transit type vehicle with a hook loader to smash down the perimeter fence and steal the container which contained cardboard. Thames Valley Police have been notified; CCTV footage is currently being reviewed.

Please share and help us to locate this container, REWARD offered for its recovery.

Congratulations to the Sustainability team at University of Reading 🌍

People & Planet is the UK's largest student campaigning organisation campaigning to end world poverty, defend human rights and protect the environment.

We’ve teamed up with Crosfields School who are hosting their first Charity Shredathon on Saturday 2nd April 2022.

Shredding will be provided free of charge in return for a cash donation towards the Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

Our brand new state-of-the-art data shredding vehicle, which securely shreds all paper documents into unrecognisable pieces, will be located in the main car park between 9.00am and 1.00pm.

We will accept all dry non-commercial paper documents; please remove any ring binders, plastic folders/wallets and bulldog clips before you arrive. All processed paper from the Shredathon will be sustainably recycled in the UK.

To mark the event, Crosfields will have a stall selling cakes and a soft drinks tombola with all proceeds going to the appeal.

We're truly honoured to have been recognised for our work on climate change with a Queen's Anniversary Prize 🎉

Our nomination highlighted the University's world-leading research, teaching, stewardship and outreach work in this area. It focused on one of the largest groups of researchers and doctoral students in the UK undertaking science of climate impact and adaptation. The group includes meteorologists, climate scientists, hydrologists, ecologists, soil scientists and ‘big data' specialists - who use the breadth and quality of science to address one of the biggest environmental, economic and societal challenges facing humanity today.

The Queen's Anniversary Prize is the highest national honour for UK institution in higher and further education - and this is the fifth time we've received an award.
