Thank you to every single person who sent birthday wishes, flowers, cards, presents and good vibes for my semi retirement yesterday, totally overwhelmed, it’s heartwarming to see so many people have your best interests at heart. I was lucky to spend the day with my lovely mam, bit or retail therapy and lots of laughs, totally blessed ❤️

Good morning everyone, well here it is my birthday today, the one that marks my retirement date. 50 years in hairdressing, 47 years in business and 23 years in teaching. Never thought I’d see the day!So just to quell any rumour mills/chinese whispers I will not be putting down my scissors, I’d never want to, it’s my total passion. I love seeing my gorgeous clients and creating new looks for them. However, after 23 years of teaching I will be closing my Training Academy and retiring from that part of my career mainly due to its level of commitment. Ellie May is all grown up and completely independent now so it’s time for more free time and adventures for me. I’ve enjoyed every single minute of it working with young people, people who wanted to retrain and hairstylists who wish to become assessors and teachers themselves. Also a massive shout out to the many employers/colleagues who I have had the pleasure to work with over the years. You’ve all played a special part in my life. To the students who have pushed on with their careers, started their own businesses, I love watching you all grow and catching up for the odd tea date. I consider myself to be a very lucky lady, I have the best job in the world and it’s given me a fantastic lifelong career ❤️
