I studied for 5 years at Bishop Auckland College and completed an Advanced Diploma in Art and Design in 2012 with a Triple Merit/Distinction Award. Art was my first love and has stayed and grown with me this past 40 plus years, I am now at a stage in my life where I can devote all my spare time to it and my wild imagination has not dulled so expect some very bright use of colours in an impressionist and abstract kind of way!!!! All copyrights of my artworks are owned by me Shelly Jeffrey so please ask permission if you wish to use any of my art and it must be linked back to me. I am an intuitive artist and all my work reflects this, I am extremely flexible and will work with you to get the exact work that you require, also I can work within a budget that best suits you, I do not charge extortionate prices, you always get more than you pay for but for some reason you do not like what I produce for you then there is absolutely no obligation to buy. I can work on small pieces 6x 4" to huge canvasses in pencil, paint, ink, encaustic wax, basically anything you want, so if you see something you really like as long as there are no copyrights I can reproduce it any size shape or form you require within your budget. Just email me or pm me with any thoughts or questions and trust my intuition will help us reach the desired finished artwork that you would love in your home.

🎨 Anatomy of Change | Robert Bryce Muir at Kirkleatham Museum

We're delighted to welcome local artist Robert Bryce Muir to Kirkleatham Museum with his latest exhibition, Anatomy of Change.

Born in Redcar and a graduate of the Royal College of Art, Robert's work is deeply personal and often autobiographical, exploring the relationship between our inner lives and the ever-changing world around us.

As he explains:
"A major part of my work is autobiographical, a reaction or comment on the environment or state of mind that I find myself in at any given time, reflecting the diversity of the world and the different ways we interact with it through the journey of our lives."

Drawing lies at the heart of Robert's creative practice. Whether studying the human form or the geological landscape, his expressive drawings become the starting point for sculptures and installations created using steel, copper, lead and concrete—materials chosen for their strength, character and ability to be transformed through industrial processes.

Join us at Kirkleatham Museum to experience this compelling exhibition and discover the remarkable work of one of Yorkshire's most distinctive contemporary artists.

Visiting the Festival of Thrift at Kirkleatham this weekend?

🏛️ Kirkleatham Museum will be open as usual throughout the weekend, and normal museum admission charges apply. We'd love to welcome you if you're planning a visit!

⚠️ Please be aware that both car parks at Kirkleatham Museum & Grounds will be closed during the event.

Good news! Free parking is available at Kirkleatham Showground, accessed via Kirkleatham Lane.
