Our senior management team recently visited a flagship property where USSG provides a large security team and dedicated reception teams for a prestigious global managing agent.

The purpose of the visit was to check the daily service across our security and reception operations.

A special mention goes to Krishna Sharma, who has been working at this same site for five years. Thank you, Krishna, and to the wider team for the work you put in each day.

We are pleased to support the buildings across this site with the people who help keep them secure and give occupiers and visitors a professional welcome.

UK SECURITY INDUSTRY UPDATE 📢

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is currently consulting on proposed changes to licence-linked qualifications and training requirements across the UK private security industry.

The proposals include updated training content, changes to how English communication skills are assessed, and changes to first-aid requirements for certain licensed operatives.

These proposals highlight the ongoing importance of professional training, effective communication and preparedness within the security industry.

At USSG, we believe maintaining high standards and staying up to date with industry developments is essential to delivering reliable and effective security services.

The consultation remains open until 23 October 2026, with final specifications expected in winter 2026 and new qualifications planned for later in 2027.

Can you identify suspicious activity before it becomes a serious problem?

Many incidents can be prevented simply by recognising the warning signs early.

Here are a few things every business should watch for:

• Unfamiliar vehicles parked for long periods
• People repeatedly observing entrances or staff routines
• Attempts to access restricted areas
• Activity outside normal operating hours
• Damage or tampering around gates, locks or CCTV systems

A proactive approach to security helps reduce risk and keeps your people, property and operations protected.
