It’s with a heavy heart that we have something to share with you. ☕

After spending the past few weeks reflecting upon some personal circumstances, Love Koffi is going into a sabbatical.

It’s not goodbye — it’s just a pause. One we’re making intentionally, so that when we come back, we come back better and stronger. 💪🕺

We have 3 markets left in April, and we’d love for you to join us at one of them. Come say hello, grab something you love, and let’s go out on a good note.

📍 The Food Barn, Tregew
🗓️ 11th, 18th & 25th April

Thank you for every purchase, every kind word, and every cup you’ve shared with someone. You’ve made this more than a business.

We’ll be back. 🧡

☕️ **The Journey of Coffee: From the Middle East to Your Mug** ☕️

Coffee isn’t just a morning ritual—it’s steeped in centuries of culture, community, and creativity! 🌍 But how many of us know that the story of coffee began long before it became a global obsession? Its fascinating journey took root in the Middle East, shaping the rich traditions we know and love today. Curious? Let’s dive into coffee's incredible spread through this vibrant region!

⭐️ **From Ethiopia to Yemen: The Origins of Coffee**
Have you ever heard the legend of Kaldi, the Ethiopian goat herder? 🌱 According to lore, he discovered coffee when his goats started dancing energetically after munching on red berries. These berries eventually made their way to Yemen in the 15th century where, for the first time, coffee was cultivated on a large scale. Yemen's port city of Mocha became famous as a hub for trading this magical drink, giving rise to the term “Mocha coffee” that we still use today!

⭐️ **Coffeehouses: The Heartbeat of Middle Eastern Life**
By the 15th century, coffeehouses or **Qahveh Khaneh** had sprung up across the region, from Cairo to Istanbul. These weren’t just spots to grab a cup of joe—they were vibrant community hubs where music, poetry, debates, and storytelling ruled the day. Coffee wasn't just fueling people’s bodies; it was sparking their minds 💭. Imagine sipping on a rich, aromatic brew while hearing a live storytelling session... Doesn’t that sound amazing?

⭐️ **Coffee in Religion & Art: A Spiritual Connection**
Coffee has long played a spiritual role in Middle Eastern culture, often served during religious gatherings to symbolise hospitality and unity. ✨ It wasn’t just a drink; it inspired artists and poets to capture life’s beauty through art. Have you ever thought of coffee as something that inspires creativity? 💡 It certainly did for generations of Middle Eastern intellectuals and creatives!

⭐️ **The Ottoman Empire: Coffee’s Global Expansion**
The Ottoman Empire had a major hand (or should we say "cup"😉) in spreading coffee beyond the Middle East. Istanbul's iconic coffeehouses became blueprints for modern cafes, introducing Europe and other parts of the world to the 'coffee culture' we enjoy today. Who knew the cup of coffee you grab on your city walk owes its roots to centuries of cultural exchange?

⭐️ **A Coffee Renaissance: Modern Trends & Traditions**
Fast forward to today, and the Middle East is undergoing a coffee renaissance, blending rich tradition with modern sophistication. Specialty coffee shops in countries like Lebanon and the UAE are pushing the boundaries with artisanal roasts and brewing methods, while still preserving the region’s history and hospitality with every cup. ☕👩‍🍳 Have you visited any specialty coffee shops that highlight Middle Eastern brews?

🎉 **A Cultural Legacy in Every Sip**
Next time you’re enjoying your favorite cup of coffee, take a moment to think about the journey it has been on for centuries—crossing lands, uniting cultures, and sparking creativity. Whether it's the bold, spicy flavors of Yemeni Mocha or the inviting ambiance of today’s modern cafes, every sip echoes centuries of tradition.

So, tell me, have **you** ever tried a traditional Middle Eastern coffee? Maybe a Turkish coffee or a strong Arabic brew? How did it compare with your regular cup? Comment below—I’d love to hear your coffee stories! 🗣👇

🌍☕ **The Middle Eastern Journey of Coffee: From Legend to Global Icon** ☕🌍

Ever wondered how coffee—a drink that so many of us can’t live without—became the global phenomenon it is today? 🌿 Believe it or not, coffee’s rich history can be traced back to the Middle East, a region that not only cultivated this beloved beverage but also shaped how it is experienced around the world. Today, I want to take you on a journey to explore coffee’s fascinating origins and its profound influence on Middle Eastern culture. ⭐

**Have you ever heard of Kaldi?** 🐐 Legend has it that this Ethiopian goat herder first noticed his goats becoming unusually energetic after munching on some mysterious red berries. Yes, you guessed it—those "magical" berries were coffee beans! Little did Kaldi know, his discovery would lead to coffee culture blossoming across the Arabian Peninsula by the 15th century. 🚢✨ From the bustling trade routes of Yemen to the highlands of Ethiopia, coffee quickly became a staple of Middle Eastern life.

The first coffeehouses—known as **Qahveh Khaneh**—began popping up in the Middle East during the same time. But these weren't just places to grab a quick brew and go on your way. Coffeehouses became cultural hubs where ideas flowed as freely as the fresh brews. Whether debating politics, enjoying live performances, or immersing oneself in music, Qahveh Khaneh fueled social and intellectual vitality in the region. Imagine sitting in one of those ancient coffeehouses—who would you want to have a conversation with? 🤔

Coffee also had close ties with Islamic traditions, often served in religious gatherings, symbolizing hospitality and unity. It was a drink that brought people together—a tradition that still rings true today! ☺️

In fact, it’s thanks to the **Ottoman Empire** that coffee started making its way across Europe and, eventually, into millions of homes across the globe. Over the centuries, coffee became so much more than just a drink—it’s a history-filled experience ingrained into the daily lives and cultures of people from Istanbul to Paris and beyond.

Flash forward to today, and the Middle East remains at the forefront of coffee innovation. In countries like Lebanon and the UAE, **speciality coffee shops** continue to mix tradition with creativity, offering a sublime coffee experience you won’t want to miss. Ever tried rich, chocolatey Yemeni Mocha? 🍫☕ Or maybe you’ve indulged in a cup of specialty coffee with a modern twist? The Middle East's influence on global coffee trends is undeniable.

**Have you ever tried Middle Eastern coffee?** Or maybe you’ve visited a coffeehouse that nods to the soul of ancient Qahveh Khaneh? I’d love to hear about your coffee adventures in the comments below! ⬇️💕 And if you haven’t yet, let’s just say you’re in for a treat. Whether you find yourself in a cosy café or sipping a luxurious brew at home, you’re participating in a history that spans centuries.
