I'm starting work on a project with this month. This week, I met the wider team, learned more about their work and looked around the gorgeous space, filled with natural light in the studios.

It's always a lot to take in when you first start with a new client as there's so much to learn, but that's also part of the joy of freelancing. No one month is ever the same.

Newlyn School of Art is an art school situated in the heart of the famous artistic colony of Newlyn in Cornwall - once home to over 100 artists who found inspiration in the fishing port and the wilds of Cornwall that surround it.

The School provides a wide range of short art courses, online courses and year-long courses; all taught by over thirty of the most respected artists working in Cornwall today - including Imogen Bone, Paul Lewin and Tom Hughes (whose work or images I've used here)

Many of their courses take place on the dramatic Cornish coastline, where students are inspired by our landscape and the stories within it.

This month, I spent some time supporting Scary Little Girls on promotion of their latest show, Keskesow. Their Cornwall tour ends tomorrow in Liskeard.

An evening of cabaret, community and creative protest came to the county as Scary Little Girls joined forces with Greenham Women Everywhere to honour the extraordinary contribution Cornish women made to the Greenham Common Women's Peace Camp.

In September 1981, women marched from Cardiff to protest the siting of American cruise missiles at RAF Greenham Common. What began as a ten-day walk became a 19-year occupation that reshaped the landscape of peaceful protest and women’s activism in Britain.

‍Women from Cornwall were among those who left their homes and families to live at the Peace Camp, facing arrest, eviction and hostility - united by the belief that collective, creative resistance could change the world.

Their stories returned home in Kernewek Keskesow Cabaret - an evening of theatre and music, performed in both Cornish and English, telling the stories of Cornish women - and women based in Cornwall - and their experiences at the peace camp.

There's more about this innovative and inspiring show on my website here:

I worked with Cheltenham Ladies' College recently on a nine-month contract and have just finished up some great projects with them.

The contract involved working alongside their dedicated in-house marketing team and external creative agencies. We've been working on lots of new adventures for this renowned independent school - from rolling out a new brand (which was developed by EDIT, who did an incredible job and have given us so much to work with) to appointing a new media agency to run advertising campaigns.

Our new Fearless Futures campaign will shine a light on the curious, courageous and compassionate young women who are part of College life, and how they dare to make a difference.

The last few months have involved the design and development of a new website - designed by EDIT and built in-house, with me acting as chief deadline maker and chivvy-along manager to get this over the line at Easter.

Take a look at the new website here:

As part of my work on the Experience project with Cornwall Council - a sustainable tourism project working with different Cornish towns each time to help them develop new ways of approaching year-round tourism - I've been working on a project in Bodmin.

Bodmin has an incredible group of passionate and committed individuals and organisations who have committed to working together on an integrated approach to promoting what Bodmin has to offer. Bodmin is often overlooked by both Cornish residents and the visiting holidaymakers - and yet the stories and the landscape are so rich, and there is a wealth of places to explore in and around Bodmin.

We've worked with Idenna Creative (a heartfelt thank you to James Neale and Kate Battersby for understanding this brief, and for your enthusiasm and connection to the project) to create More to Bodmin - a new campaign to spark curiosity, invite discovery and shine a light on the layers of adventure, creativity and heritage that make Bodmin unique.

Céline Holman and Francesco Rigolli are absolutely brilliant at bringing all of our partners in Bodmin together on this, and delivering and funding projects in the town to develop even more to offer in the area - from new murals and map signage, to art installations and cycling events.

We're excited to launch our campaign this month - including a beautiful new website and digital ads, also developed in partnership with Idenna. Please do take a look and let us know what you think.

The website is at moretobodmin.co.uk and the campaign is rolling out around Cornwall at the moment.

The Council of the Isles of Scilly has launched its new Manifesto for Culture 2026–2030, setting out an ambitious, island-wide vision for the future of arts, heritage and creativity.

Building on the success of the first manifesto published in 2021, the new strategy - produced in partnership with the new Isles of Scilly Museum and Cultural Centre, an ongoing Roscoe Communications client - outlines how culture will continue to play a vital role in the lives of residents and visitors alike.

The Manifesto creates a shared vision for culture across the islands, shaped by creativity and collaboration, seeing culture as a tool to support wellbeing, strengthen community identity and enhance Scilly’s unique sense of place.

At its heart, the Manifesto recognises culture as something created and shared across all five inhabited islands - from artists and makers to community groups, festivals and venues. It establishes four guiding principles - identity, connectivity, inclusion and environmental responsibility - which will shape cultural development over the next five years.

I've been quiet on here for the last six months but it's not been quiet on the work front....lots and lots to report on but I've been too busy to tell social media about it.

One of the big projects I've been a part of is the new branding, website and advertising campaigns for Cheltenham Ladies' College. The renowned independent school will be relaunching their website in April, introducing their new branding and recruitment campaign to the world.

I've been working with them since last summer, and there has been a huge amount of work put into getting this right.

We are entering the final push on the launch of the website, and I'll share the details of the brand work we launch in April.

Workplace of dreams today at the gorgeous ...

Peace, quiet, no meetings all afternoon - just the rustle of pages turning, the sounds of other people industriously tapping away on their laptops or sketching away and the gorgeous views through their lovely old windows. More please.
