Nope.

It’s just another Cornish rain cloud coming to ruin everyone’s plans. 😂☔

But while we’re all stood there staring at the sky wondering where summer went…

your solar panels are still cracking on. ☀️⚡

Because solar panels don’t need blazing sunshine to generate electricity, they work from daylight, so even on cloudy days they can still be producing power.

Will they generate as much as they would on a beautiful sunny day? No.

Will they immediately clock off because it’s raining?

Also no. 😂

Which, considering we live in Cornwall, is probably quite important.

So you can keep the umbrella handy…

☀️ An important update for anyone considering solar or battery storage in the future

We wanted to share an upcoming change that residents and businesses across Cornwall may find useful to know.

Qualifying solar and battery storage installations currently benefit from 0% VAT.

From 1 April 2027, the VAT rate is due to change to 5%.

With renewable energy becoming part of the longer-term plans for more homes and businesses, we think it’s important that people are aware of changes like this and have the right information when considering their options.

We’ll continue to share relevant updates as they arise and, as always, if there’s something you don’t understand or would like more information about, our team is happy to help.

There’s something pretty satisfying about seeing those panels in place, especially with the clouds reflecting across them like this! 😍
