March 2016 was a changing point.
I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety.

Recovery wasn’t easy - painful, messy, full of ups and downs.
Over the years, I’ve learned to seek support and try different strategies.

Now I’m a mental health advocate and trainer, sharing what I’ve learned and helping others have safe, meaningful conversations.

Ten years on, recovery is possible.
Thank you to my champions along the way.

Time to Talk Day 💚

Ann & I shared what hasn’t helped us when it comes to mental health conversations.

Sometimes people need care before conversation.
And listening before advice.

Time to Talk Day 💚

Ann and I spoke about what’s actually helped us when it comes to talking about our mental health.

Sometimes it’s not advice.
Sometimes it’s not fixing.

It’s time.
Space.
Silence.

And someone who listens without judgement.

Time to Talk Day is coming up on 5 February 💬

Talking can really help but there’s no pressure. You don’t have to share more than you want, and you can go at your own pace.

A simple check-in, a coffee catch-up, or just listening can make a big difference.
Support is there when you’re ready 🤍

Today is often called Blue Monday. I’m choosing Brew Monday instead ☕

A gentle reminder to slow down, check in and connect in ways that support our wellbeing.
January can feel difficult for lots of reasons, and today might be a good moment to pause.

Reach out to someone.
Share a warm drink.
Have a proper catch-up, even if it’s a short one 🤍

None of us have to do January alone.
(Hot water counts too 😉)

5 simple tips for beating the January slump ❄️

• Keep a gentle routine
• Get daylight where you can
• Move your body (nothing intense)
• Connect with someone
• Plan micro breaks

No pressure. Just small steps that help.

What helps you most in January?

Attendance initiatives can encourage consistency but for children who are ill, managing chronic conditions, more anxious or perfectionistic, they can create unintended pressure.

Missing school isn’t failure. Health, rest, and emotional wellbeing always come first. A child who feels supported learns better than a child who feels pressured 🌱

What’s been your experience with attendance schemes at school?
