Of course, the cause that would require a "rebound" would be the impact of Covid-19, but what would have people buying-social more?

You can't help but avoid the possibility for how it'll improve technically. From a technological perspective, Social-Commerce is actually a relatively new thing, and will take time before it's as smooth and efficient as it could be, with more and better ways of someone being able to understand and purchase a product while using social media, you can be sure the purchases will scale.

Moreover, with more businesses taking the "social" part of "social media" seriously, people will start to feel more connected to the brands that they like and support, and will likely start purchasing more from them.

Try changing that up... Try connecting with what people like and see the selling come naturally after that.

But promoting your business isn't about "promoting your business" as much as it is demonstrating what you can do for your potential customers. πŸ’¬

So, while it's great to use social media to "break the fourth wall" and give the world a little peak behind the curtain of your business to show off your business's culture and team, you need to remember to demonstrate that you're an expert in your field no matter what... So, remember... More than just your business!
