Celebration Books is part of Farewell Photographs. Following the launch of the business which specialised in producing Tribute Books for families who had lost a loved one, and who wanted a lasting memorial. The service included the copying of old photographs, restoring and repairing them using the latest computer software. The images within the Tribute Book were specifically sel
ected by the family to mark milestones in the loved one’s life, including funerary photography is required. Are you a Coronation Street fan? On a recent episode Roy and Hayley (Cropper of the café) mentioned photography at funerals. Celebrity funeral always have photographers. It is a record of the celebration of a person’s life. Numerous times I have been asked to photograph weddings of family members and friends. My answer is-I specialise in an area of photography, an analogy would be-If I was a heart surgeon, would you ask me to operate on your brain? A business colleague suggested that I produce Celebration Books to mark important milestones in a person’s life. He suggested creating an ideal gift for milestones such as Birthdays, Wedding Anniversaries, Engagements, Graduation, Military Commissions, Promotion, Retirements, Religious milestones e.g. Confirmation, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. In fact any specific time in someone’s life that is celebrated., and most are, including Divorce! My Mother passed away and for the funeral tea (read as Reception or Wake) I produced a presentation. This consisted of a number of photographs that were copied (restored as required) and put together as a continuous ‘slideshow’ playing throughout the afternoon. The photostory covered from childhood through to the passing of my late Father. This service is particularly useful for families sharing family trees. The feedback received was extremely encouraging. So, the idea of Celebration Books and Continuous loop Slideshows was born. I have just completed a wedding presentation to be played throughout the reception. Price List
