REIKI
The practice of Reiki is an original method of healing, developed by Mikao Usui in Japan during the early 20th Century. It is a natural healing energy activated by intention and works on every level - body, mind and spirit. Eastern medicine has always recognised and worked with this energy, which flows through all living things and is vital to wellbeing. Acupuncture, Tai Chi and Yoga are al
so based on the free-flow of this energy in a person. Reiki is a gentle yet powerful complementary therapy and works effectively alongside orthodox healthcare and natural remedies, thereby expanding treatment options. Reiki is not an alternative to conventional medicine. You should therefore always consult a GP about acute or infectious conditions, and in connection with problems of an urgent nature. Illness can be a time of great stress - Reiki can help us to cope by encouraging relaxation and bringing balance to both mind and emotions. A Reiki session is carried out with the recipient either lying down or sitting whilst the practitioner gently places their hands on/over the receipient's body. There is no need to remove clothing as the Reiki energy passes easily through all materials. Reiki may be experienced as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth, coolness, other sensations or nothing at all. The recipient automatically draws in only as much energy as needed, using it in whatever way is most appropriate to them at that time. The beneficial effects may be felt for several days following a treatment. Reiki's gentle energy is easily adapted to most medical conditions and may be used safely by people of all ages, including the newborn, pregnant mothers, surgical patients, the frail and elderly, in any situation. Reiki is being used in various locations including private practice, complementary therapy centres, GP surgeries, hospitals, hospices, cancer support groups, post-operative recovery, drug rehabilitation, prisons, HIV/AIDS centres and in the care of the elderly. REIKI DRUM TECHNIQUE
The Reiki Drum Technique was developed by Michael Baird in the USA during 1999. It was introduced into the UK in 2007 by Sarah Gregg, a UK Reiki Master/Teacher after training in Arizona with Michael Baird. It is a relatively new therapy that is expanding quickly and practitioners are reporting excellent results; both with themselves and their clients. However drumming is nothing new - it has been practiced for many many years in indigenous cultures around the world. Reiki Drum Journey facilitates a state of altered consciousness to enable the client to access their inner wisdom. It is used for personal, career and relationship issues. Reiki Drum Healing Session involves gentle drumming over the body, followed by a hands-on Reiki treatment to enable the integration of theDrum Healing. Reiki Drum Mental Reprogramming Healing Session is used to assist change, focus the mind and can positively affect the subconscious mind.
