Do you own a pair of GHD Gold or GHD Max hair straighteners?

If so we recommend you turn them off at the wall or unplug them when you are not using them. This is because we've discovered that voltage fluctuations on the mains supply can sometimes damage them, even when "switched off". If they are unplugged, then they can't be damaged!

These GHD SS2 hair straighteners are now 18 years old. We repaired them 10 years ago by fitting a new cable and the customer has just come back to us for a 2nd new cable.

So nice to see these irons lasting so well and of course getting an email in response to our email from 10 years ago!

Fingers crossed for another 10 years!

Have you got a broken GHD product you don't want any more? Why not sell it to us for spare parts? We are currently buying straighteners, curlers, wands and hair dryers.

We are not currently buying broken GHDs as we have an excess of spare parts in stock at the current time. We plan to resume this service at some point in the future!

A few people have been asking us if we're still operating. The simple answer is YES! Our workshop is normally pretty isolated so this is business as usual for us :-)

So if you are using your lock down to have a clear out and have come across some old broken GHDs, why not send them in for repair - either as a spare set or to sell on ebay for a bit of extra cash!

Great news that appliance manufacturers must consider repair when they design their products. Sadly it does not apply to Hair Straighteners (so we still won't be able to repair the Platinum model!), but it is a step in the right direction for the planet and our bank balances.

The rules will make household appliances longer-lasting and easier to fix.
