World Environment Day this year is a global call for climate action.

The planet is sending signals that are too hot to ignore, and UNEP’s global campaign calls on all of us to step in .

At Robert Scott, our mission is simple:

That last point is incredibly important to us. It’s why we’ve been making mops and cloths from recycled fabric for more than a century, and why we recently launched the world’s first biodegradable socket mop. It’s also why we’re committed to reducing our carbon footprint, with a target of achieving net zero by 2045.

The cumulative impact of a wide range of environmental initiatives – including hybrid and electric vehicles, solar panels, LED lighting with motion sensors, waste reduction, and improvements to both upstream and downstream transportation – has helped us reduce our carbon emissions by 16% over the past two years.

There’s still more we can and will do, but this progress shows we’re moving in the right direction - and demonstrates what’s possible when sustainability is built into everyday decisions.
