𝗔 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 🏠

First opened as a local Co-op in 1914, this familiar Greenfield building has been part of the community for more than 120 years.

When the opportunity arose to give the historic building a new purpose, Robert Scott invested in its renovation to create a home for two fantastic local organisations.

Phantasmagoria CIC uses creativity to support wellbeing and social inclusion, while YFG (You Fight Great – taken from the film Rocky), Saddleworth’s first amateur boxing club, provides an inclusive environment for children and adults to build fitness, confidence and friendships.

Two very different organisations, but both doing great work to build confidence, wellbeing and connections within our local community.

Robert Scott has called Greenfield home since 1973, so we’re delighted to see this historic building busy and thriving once again.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.

We’ve now received our latest test report for the 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗹® 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗽 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁, and the results are in!

Using ASTM D5511, a widely recognised method for assessing biodegradability in managed landfill conditions, the socket material has demonstrated 𝟯𝟳.𝟮% 𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 just 𝟭𝟴 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀. That’s up from 29.6% after the first 12 months of tests.

For context, conventional plastics can take hundreds – even thousands – of years to break down.

This is exactly why we incorporated the BioSphere® additive into our Exel® mop sockets: to help reduce the long-term environmental impact of plastic components at end of life.

Testing is ongoing, and we’ll continue to share updated results as they become available. Because sustainability claims should always be backed by evidence.
