I'm blessed to be part of experiences that bring joy to the clients I visit... But this one, well, I can't stop smiling every time I think about it!

On Sunday, I accompanied a 95 year old client to Mamma Mia The Musical. I'm left with wonderful memories of him roaring with laughter and standing up clapping during the encore, the biggest grin on his face.

For me, care is about enabling opportunities. When a client says, "I wish I could," I start thinking about how we can make it happen together.

I'm so glad we shared this experience!

Sometimes the most therapeutic activity is the simplest. Stripping it right back to just sitting with a takeaway coffee, surrounded by beautiful wild flowers and birdsong 🐦🌾🌿

The initial pilot scheme is being run in Plymouth only. Hopefully it will roll out to more locations around Devon and Cornwall soon!

💙 This Dementia Action Week, we’re supporting people living with dementia — together.

We are proud to be partnering with Devon & Cornwall Police for the launch of the Dementia Safeguarding Scheme, helping to improve safety and support for people living with dementia across our communities.

The scheme incorporates the Herbert Protocol, allowing individuals living with dementia, alongside their next of kin or carers, to provide vital information that can help police respond quickly should someone go missing or require assistance.

As part of the scheme, you can request assistance devices which are provided free of charge for eligible individuals living with dementia.

📍 The Dementia Safeguarding Scheme will initially be piloted in Plymouth.

I'm absolutely delighted to be a Jelly Drops Champion.

Dehydration is common in people with dementia for many reasons, including, forgetting to drink, diminished thirst recognition, or swallowing difficulties to name but a few. Even mild dehydration can increase confusion, as well as increase the risk of UTI's, and falls.

I have some free samples to share locally, if a loved one with dementia would like to try a pack.

What an absolute pleasure it has been to help Paul Lindsay aka Hiking Ginger's Adventures during his epic South West Coast Path hike. Paul is raising funds for The Alzheimer's Society following his father's own diagnosis of Alzheimer's.
We reached out to Paul, offering him a meal and a bed for the night, and I'm so pleased we did, what a privilege it was to hear all about his father, their close bond so clear to see!
