Well my PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) training was very reminiscent of my phlebotomy training days when I worked in the NHS, but Instead of a silicone arm, I had this cute teddy to practice on!
Undertaking new skills and continuing my professional development helps me provide safer more knowledgeable person centered care. This allows me to keep my skills and knowledge up to date and that my practice reflects current guidance, legislation and care standards.
Training such as PEG care, dementia care, safeguarding, medication and other areas of specialist care strengthens my ability to support clients safely.
