Nice little inside job for last week while the weather was rubbish, book cases have been adjusted to fit a new corner sofa, then a full repaint ceiling to skirting including all woodwork. All ready to be the teenage Den.

So 6 weeks ago my bee journey finally began, after nearly a year of reading , online courses and practical lessons I took the plunge. Im loving every minute, ive had ups and downs already but did my first solo swarm collection the other evening and have gone from 1 to 4 hives in a matter of weeks.
Fingers crossed my girls keep building nicely and honey will flow🤞🤞🤞🙏🙏 the honey below is from my mentors apiary at one of my training sessions it will be available from Harnham Honey

The business is changing lots this year so watch this space, part of the change is learning new skills, im currently studying to become a beekeeper , the theory side is going great and soon to start the practical side with my fabulous mentor

With the arrival of the female runners next week, my job was to make room for the new duck house and run. 2 metres deep of box hedge has been removed all stumps dug out, ground levelled and duck run and house built. It started so well , chickens and duck off round the garden .....then they realised it wS a feast where I was working with all the spiders and worms. So hard to work with 13 chickens at your feet , good job they laid lots of eggs for me

Last couple of days have been spent starting to clear this wooded area at an estate I work at. The ivy needs removing on all the trees , paths created by removing ground ivy and saplings removed, once a clear path has been made i can start thinning out the undergrowth. The dead section of Yew tree will be sorted by the tree surgeon.( i failed to get to many before pictures🙄 but the paths were 100% not there before)

Spot of clearance this week along the chalk stream outside one of the properties I look after , undergrowth has been cut back , nettles pulled and channels dug in to help run off from the road, last section to be completed this week
