What's in a First Aid Box?

If someone was injured today, would you know what to reach for?

A first aid box contains essential equipment used to deal with common injuries and emergencies until further help arrives.

It's important that first aid boxes are checked regularly to ensure items are fully stocked, in date, and ready for use when needed.

Knowing what's inside a first aid box is a key part of Student First Aid training and helps build confidence when responding to an emergency.

We've been featured in Thescarboroughnews! We're proud to report we've trained over 1000 learners in the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training in Autism and Learning Disabilities. Our 1000th learner was part of a class of from the wonderful team at St Leonard's Hospice! Our team is always happy to be able to help train organisations that do such important work like Hospices.

Autism is a spectrum, but that does not mean everyone is on it.

People may relate to certain autistic traits, such as preferring routine, feeling socially overwhelmed, or being sensitive to noise. However, having some shared traits does not necessarily mean someone is autistic.

The National Autistic Society explains that autism is a spectrum because every autistic person experiences the world differently, with different strengths, differences and support needs.

Phrases like “everyone is a little bit autistic” can minimise autistic experiences and contribute to misunderstanding.

At Yorkshire Futures, we offer Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training to help organisations and individuals build greater understanding, awareness and confidence around learning disabilities and autism.
