A comedy tour is basically an exhibition stand with hecklers.
We’ve been working with on , as they travel in search for the UK’s next comedy legend.
Which meant making a few things that needed to look good, travel well and cope with a different stage every time.
So we made custom adjustable backdrop signs, complete with sticker-bashed uprights, which can be reconfigured to suit the different venues. And because simply listening to the audience apparently wasn’t enough, we also built a freestanding Laugh-o-Meter.
A completely scientific* way of finding out whether a comedian is actually funny.
They’ve already been putting the kit to work in Chiswick, Bath and Leeds, with the competition travelling around the UK before the final. Dutch Barn describes the whole thing as its hunt for the next comedy legend, with £5,000 waiting for the winner.
This is exactly the sort of project we like.
Not really “just signage”. Not quite an exhibition stand. Definitely involves stickers.
And occasionally people stand next to it and try to make a room full of strangers laugh.
Thanks for having us involved in this one. .creative_media & Tom Blenkiron. Our own .abell is on the hunt for some cans now!
*Not remotely scientific.
