Seaweed - seems to be the answer to everything these days from food to fertiliser, from pharmaceuticals to fuel. I fear there won't be enough seaweed to go around. It's not a bottomless resource to be exploited but a keystone species with an important role to play in the marine habitat. Will we ever change this anthropocentric view of everything around us? Another use of seaweed - shower gel containing seaweed extract. The scientific name is written in italics, as it should be, although as the other text is also in italics that’s probably just the designer’s choice of font not because it’s the scientifically correct thing to do. The species name should not be capitalised. It’s a mine field and very distressing for pernickety people like me!
