Weekend Preview

Our first XI make the trip down the A15 to face off against Bracebridge Heath, who came up with them from the Second Division last season. We had 2 back to back wins against Bracebridge last year so Ollie Ounsleys side will be hoping to bring back 20 points again as the title race hots up. Just 1 win separates us and top place Alkborough with a game in hand, so the league is in our own hands. Just the one change to last week's side with Theo on holiday, so Graeme Fletcher comes up after an impressive time bowling for the second team.

For the 2nd XI it's another tough test. After playing 1st and 2nd in the last 2 weeks, we host 3rd place Cleethorpes in Division two of the lincs league. Cleethorpes beat our 2nds on the first game of the season, and we will be hoping to continue to pick up points to keep us in mid-table as we enter the business end of the season. 3 changes to last week's team as we welcome back Adam Wroot to Saturday cricket after a horrible injury for the first XI back in June, Charles Mason also returns to the side and Anthony Fitzgerald returns from holiday. The bar and ground will be open from 1pm to cheer on the lads, and we welcome all down to Hirst Priory.

The 3rd XI can make the Glen Sands cup final with a game to spare on Sunday with a win at home to local Rivals Haxey. Some academy names back in side as Zach and Jack return from holiday, with the usual mix of older heads, younger academy players and players starting on their senior cricket path. Ground and bar will be open from 1pm.

Match ball sponsors this week are Alex Robertson for the first XI who we can see down at the ground each week supporting the lads and coach for our Under 15 side and Wells VA Services, based in Crowle who provides flexible, professional admin support to busy business owners.

Here’s a throwback from when I was 3, at a family event with my parents. It’s amazing how technology has evolved – I’ve always loved this black and white photo, so I decided to give it a go in colour using *MyHeritage* software.

Despite a few minor glitches, it’s incredible to see how software can breathe new life into old memories. The colours may not be perfectly accurate, but the transformation is still fascinating!
