So happy about this.
Onwards and upwards 🚗⚡️🌍💚
I’m going to start my weekend with the biggest smile in my heart. And here’s why. This time last year, I was working with the great and .mccloud1 making a documentary for Channel 4 called ‘The Big Climate Fight’. And a bloody fight it was. In fact I found myself sobbing with frustration and fear most days while filming.
Here we were with irrefutable proof from the best scientists, economists, and just all round bloody clever people making up the Climate Change Committee, that using less than 3 per cent of England’s land for onshore wind and solar could produce enough energy to power every English household more than twice over. Because the fact is, the use of fossil fuels is the leading source of carbon emissions. And that making our homes eco and energy efficient is an absolutely no bloody brainer.
And yet we were ignored. Completely ignored and closed down by all the ministers supposedly in charge of driving positive climate progress in this country.
And then lo and behold - in just over one week in power, here’s what’s happened.
We need to celebrate and mark this moment. It’s such a milestone…no, a tipping point. Because we now need to keep up the momentum, keep this change happening, turn this first step into many, and this one action into a movement. And for us , that can only happen if we come together in all our ‘usness’ -fuel the hope that this gives us and harness the power of our collective force for positive change.
