Together with AME-3D we helped our client Go Ahead London reverse engineer a part from the modules pictured that were broken.

The casing that held the plug in place was worn and snapped on a few modules for Go Ahead. We scanned the part and our design team created CAD that could replicate the part to the correct dimensions.

The top of the old, worn casing was cut out of the module and with some tweaks to the CAD so that the new piece could fit flush, we created a workaround solution for our customer which meant saving money due to not having to buy entire new units.

Printing in SLS meant that the new parts were strong and robust to be long-lasting. With some initial test parts produced to ensure correct fitment, we went ahead and replaced the rest of the units that needed it.
