Your Horse goals

It doesn’t matter how big or how small

What are you grateful for this summer.

For me it was just getting me and boyo to camp at somerford park farm .

We have missed going for the last 2 years you boy getting injured in 2024 .

They say time is a great healer and in boys case it has been the best thing for him .

He’s come back stronger then ever , enjoying been out there in the arena surrounded by jumps .

Gosh he sure wanted to lock onto the fences but I was being really cautious as I’m so frightened of him get injured again .

We did a couple of pole lessons and I put my brave pants on and we did a few cross poles in a jump lesson ( which he was flying before I could even ask for the jump 🙈) but to say we just had the best time is a understatement.

So when you are surrounded by the best people who know your journey and there to support you !
You just have to go for it and take small steps to feel if thing are ok and go with it , you can feel it’s going to be ok .

Camp 2026 we came home with lots of fantastic memories ,
now onto where our next adventure will be.

Gosh I’m so sorry I’ve been so quiet on this page 🙈,

I’ve had lots going on in the background.

I’ve been busy with my other passion the smile therapy ponies ,

I have been doing training work but just not had time to share ,

Even when I’ve been out at events I’ve not not been working I’ve ended up supporting people with their horses ,
I ended up loading 3 horses at an event last Sunday as their owner were struggling,

I’ve been making more time doing things with my special boy as I was determined this year we do more together.

Honoring Monty Roberts

California Horse Center will forever be shaped by the life and work of Monty Roberts.

Every pasture, every arena, every trail, and every horse on this ranch reflects his lifelong belief that horses deserve to be understood through patience, kindness, and trust.

Monty devoted his life to changing the way the world sees horses. His methods inspired generations of horsemen and women, proving that true partnership is built through communication—not force.

While we mourn his passing, we are also incredibly grateful for the legacy he leaves behind. His influence will continue to live on in every horse whose life is changed through understanding, every student who chooses compassion, and every quiet moment of connection between horse and human.

Thank you, Monty, for a lifetime of teaching us to listen.

We are honored to carry your legacy forward.

Yesterday we got the sad news of the passing of Monty Robert’s.
I’ve have been so blessed to be part of Monty’s tours and at other events Monty did .
Last year I was so lucky to be able to attend his 90th birthday celebration at flags up farm .
He set the foundation for a better future of training for horses all over the world .
Thank you Monty Roberts for creating a learning system that works for horse and humans.
I will carry on doing my best to help make a difference for horses and humans .

At the weekend I had a catch up with some of the Intelligent horsemanship trainer for a social and a bit of CPD .
Topics
Eye infections , melting ulcer on a pony and the treatment.
Fun with the race horse stimulator and bucking barrel.
Ian gave a talk on mules and how they process things a little differently to horses .
He talked about his mare and her new foal . (Who knew you can get tablets to make you produce milk without having a baby )
Kelly did an update on her horse Hugo and the journey on rehab with his lameness.
Carolyn share her knowledge on how we can better use the social media platforms to our advantage for our businesses .
We all talked about our key learning point from our last year as trainers.
One of the major ones that came up was owners wanting a quick fix with the problem s they have with their horse .
